Gift Will Support Korean American Studies
RIVERSIDE, June 2010 - A generous gift from Korean-American entrepreneur Jay Kim will support the launch of a research center for Korean-American studies at UCR. Kim, president of Costar International Enterprises Inc. and Costar Group Inc., signed a gift agreement on June 2 that brings his total contributions and pledges to the Young Oak Kim Center for Korean American Studies to $150,000. Overseas Korean Foundation Announces $2.7M Gift; Endows YOK Center for Korean American Studies
RIVERSIDE, April 13, 2010 – The University of California, Riverside and the Overseas Koreans Foundation signed an agreement to establish a research center for Korean-American studies on the UCR campus. The foundation will provide 3 billion won – approximately $2.7 million U.S. – in three annual installments to endow the Young Oak Kim Center for Korean American Studies.
